The United Church of Christ (UCC) is a theologically liberal, Protestant denomination. It was officially incorporated as an organization in 1957 as a result of the merger of the Congregational Christian Churches and the Evangelical and Reformed Church. In 2009 the denomination had approximately 1.1 million members with over 5,300 churches in the United States.
The United Church of Christ participation in the FACT project included a survey of 1200 churches randomly chosen from a listing of all UCC congregations in the United States. A total of 801 questionnaires were returned for a 66.75% response rate. View the 2000 version of the questionnaire used by the United Church of Christ.
